Responsibilities
Skills & Competencies-:
1.Shift Security Operations
a) Monitoring and control of shift operations of Security.
b) Deployment, control and monitoring of Security deployment in shift.
c) Strengthening & streamlining of security procedures.
d) Ensure adherence/implementation of SOPs for move of men and material.
e) Coordinate all the activities in case of any kind of emergency, i.e., fire / natural calamities / other contingencies.
f) Visitor management.
g) Training and development of guards & maintaining discipline on continuous basis as per need of the organization.
h) Should understand operations of CCTV, Access Control, Flap Barriers and other security equipment
2.Access Control / Men & Material Management
a) Regulating movement of men/material during shifts through proper documentation/ gate passes.
b) Preventing any kind of unauthorized entry into the premises.
c) Handling of unwanted elements around the premises, diffusing the situation as and when required.
d) Traffic / parking management.
e) Undertake surprise checks during shifts.
3.Loss Prevention/ Theft Control / Investigations
a) Implementation of security measures to avoid / minimize theft / pilferage incidents.
b) Internal fraud prevention
c) Proper monitoring of material movement including scrap.
d) Proper regulation of RGP(Returnable Gate Pass)/ NRGP(Non-Returnable gate pass).
4.Liaison & Intelligence gathering in IR environment
a) To liaise & strengthen/maintain cordial relations with Police authorities and surrounding villagers.
b) To develop network to obtain inside/beforehand information concerning both internal and external factors.
c) Development of Intelligence network among other industries.
5.MIS & Audit
a) Conducting security audit on a regular basis in order to identify and close gaps in the existing security system.
b) Select, design, implement and manage security measure to reduce risk of loss through continual use of auditing, review & assessment.
c) Preparation & submission of various reports and MIS.
6.General Administrative Work
a) Monitoring & creating discipline workforce including Contractual labour etc.
b) Recommend penalty for various acts of indiscipline as per laid down SOP.
c) Scrutinization & processing of vendor bills.
d) ·Should be well versed with Statutory compliances including PSARA Actetc.
Experience and Background
Qualification:
a) Bachelor’s Degree (Mandatory) – A degree in any discipline, preferably in security management, criminology, law, business administration, or defense studies.
b) Master’s Degree (Preferred, Not Mandatory) – A postgraduate degree or diploma in security management, risk assessment, or corporate security can be an added advantage.
c) Ex-Defense/Police Personnel – Retired personnel from the Indian Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces, or Police are often preferred for this role.
Professional Experience:
a) Minimum Experience – Typically, 15 to 18 years of experience in security and vigilance management. Ex-Defence (Army/Navy/Air Force) or Para-Military forces (BSF/ CRPF/ITBP) with minimum 15-18 experience in Security/Vigilance.
b) Experience in law enforcement, private security agencies, or industrial(pharma) security is beneficial.
c) Familiarity with corporate security procedures, crisis management, and compliance with regulatory security laws.
d) Experience in handling physical security, electronic surveillance (CCTV, biometric access control), and emergency response.
Technical & Skill Requirements
a) Knowledge of Security Laws & Regulations – Must be well-versed with the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 (PSARA), Industrial Security Policies, Disaster Management Act, and relevant labor laws.
b) Risk Assessment & Crisis Management – Ability to assess threats, manage security risks, and create contingency plans.
