Key Responsibilities
● GCP Infrastructure Management:
○ Design, build, and maintain a scalable and resilient multi-project GCP environment.
○ Deploy, manage, and optimize GKE Autopilot clusters for our containerized applications.
○ Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for deploying applications to GKE and other GCP services.
○ Develop and manage our serverless infrastructure using GCP Cloud Functions.
○ Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
○ Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across the GCP infrastructure.
○ Ensure the security and compliance of the GCP environment according to best practices.
● Legacy AWS Infrastructure Maintenance:
○ Maintain and support our legacy infrastructure on AWS, ensuring its stability and availability.
○ Assist in the planning and execution of migrating services from AWS to GCP.
○ Manage and decommission AWS resources as services are successfully migrated.
● Kubernetes & Serverless Focus:
○ Serve as the subject matter expert for Kubernetes and GKE Autopilot.
○ Work closely with development teams to containerize applications and optimize them for a Kubernetes environment.
○ Design, deploy, and manage GCP Cloud Functions, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and secure.
● DevOps Culture & Automation:
○ Champion and implement DevOps best practices across the engineering organization.
○ Automate manual processes to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
○ Collaborate with development teams to streamline and improve the entire software development lifecycle.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
● Proven experience working as a DevOps Engineer in a cloud-centric environment.
● Mandatory Google Cloud Certification: Must hold one of the following active certifications:
○ Google Certified Professional - Cloud DevOps Engineer
○ Google Certified Professional - Cloud Architect
● Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) core services, including GKE (with Autopilot experience), Cloud Functions, IAM, VPC, and Cloud Build.
● In-depth, practical knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization technologies (Docker).
● Demonstrable experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, with a strong
preference for Terraform.
● Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
● Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build.
● Solid understanding of fundamental networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, Firewalls, Load Balancing)
● Preferred:
● Professional experience managing and maintaining production infrastructure on AWS.
● Working knowledge of core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
● Experience with planning and executing cloud migration projects from AWS to GCP.
● Familiarity with modern monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and
Google Cloud's operations suite (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging).
● Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.
● Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively in a team environment.
