Mechanical Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and schedules in coordination with stakeholders. Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and resource requirements.
• Monitor progress against established timelines and adjust plans as necessary to meet project milestones.
• Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts. Monitor project expenses, track costs, and manage budget allocation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and strategies to optimize project profitability.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and managing expectations. Conduct regular project status meetings with clients and stake holders to review progress, discuss issues, and solicit feedback.
• Foster positive relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and promote repeat business opportunities.
• Lead and motivate project teams, including engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and support sta . Delegate tasks, assign responsibilities, and provide guidance to team members to ensure e icient project execution.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety protocols, building codes, and quality standards.
• Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with project execution and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact. Monitor project risks throughout the lifecycle and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges or disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations to mitigate legal and operational risks.
• Coordinate procurement activities, including sourcing materials and equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to secure favourable terms and pricing.
• Monitor inventory levels, track deliveries, and resolve supply chain issues to prevent delays or disruptions to project timelines.
• Ensure strong monitoring and review system on projects' progress, expenses, billing, and collection of funds to maintain scheduled positive cashflow across projects to generate profitability.
• Active participation in T&C activities (L1 to L5), monitoring and issue resolution with the involvement of client, vendor, OEM and subcontractor to achieve desired results
• Preparation of snag list, monitoring and closing within prescribed timelines
• Preparation of final closure reports and smooth handing over of the projects to customer as per Data Centre requirement.

Experience:

Minimum of 12-15 years of relevant experience of handling projects, data centre exposure of 4-5 years is must for selection of the right candidate. The candidate should have delivered minimum two data centres as Mechanical lead for any hyperscaler/co location customer.

Added Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).

MS Office knowledge and proficiency is must.
